Frank Schlick is a German media composer based near London, UK. His work ranges from minimalist, organic cinematic music to synth-driven tension and hard-hitting hybrid-orchestral scores.
Across different styles, he is drawn to music with character, whether that comes from an unusual texture, a slightly imperfect performance, an unexpected orchestral colour or sound design woven into the score. Rather than aiming for a single signature genre, he looks for the detail that gives each project its own identity.
He wrote additional music for the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive and for the feature film Knuckledust (dir. James Kermack, original score by Walter Mair). He also composed the soundtrack for the indie game Weaving Tides, developed by Austrian studio Follow the Feathers and published by Crytivo. The score draws on instruments from around the world to carry the story across its different worlds.
In production music, his track “Slam” (Elephant Music) was selected for the launch trailer of Xbox’s Gears 5: Hivebusters. Frank holds a Master of Arts in Arts & Design from the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg, Austria.
